Welcome to GEORGE!
GEORGE is the new youth centre opened by The Children’s Aid Society of Brant for or youth in care. GEORGE’S purpose is to help youth connect with workers in a more comfortable space. GEORGE provides a safe place for our youth to come if they are in need, or even to just visit with their worker and other staff.
Throughout the week there are several days where GEORGE is staffed by Children’s Services Worker from the Permanency Services Unit and the Adoption and Permanency Services Unit. During these times, youth can meet with their workers, have a snack, do laundry or take a shower if that is the need. Youth can also test their musical talents in a rousing game of “Rock Band”. Youth can also “shop” for things for their apartments or homes in our donation rooms.
There are three workers on site of GEORGE, Paula Bowden: Youth Transition Worker, and Karen Bulmer and Liz Ryan, both Children’s Services Worker. For information on programming and events happening at GEORGE can contact Paula at 519 753 8681 ext 417.
More programming is being planned since the opening of GEORGE. If you have any ideas or suggestions please contact Paula.
